University of Queensland Law’s Annual Revue

Unbridled law school hilarity is on full display at The University of Queensland, Down Under.

Pop goes the law student

POPULAR culture goes under the microscope at The University of Queensland this week, with law students staging their annual revue at the Schonell Theatre.

A tongue-in-cheek tribute to Michael Jackson’s monster album Thriller, gang wars and film trailer rip-offs are all there, ensuring plenty of pop references in the production.

TC Beirne After Reading will be staged at The Schonell Theatre from Wednesday to Saturday.

Director Georgie Horsburgh said that while there were plenty of law jokes, with students poking fun at their future profession, there would also be plenty for the average punter to enjoy as well.

“There is a Snuggie number, for example. It’s Snuggies as you have never seen them before. It is something people can identify with,” she said.

“There are zombie lawyers, boys going a cappella and comic cabaret. There’s a strong sense of professionalism but a lot of self-deprecation as well”.
