Florida A&M University College of Law Wins Accreditation

Our friends at FAMU College of Law had a very tough road, and things worked out for them. Congratulations!

FAMU Law School Gains Accreditation

One of Central Florida’s biggest law schools has gained its accreditation. Up until now, students of FAMU’s law school in downtown Orlando couldn’t be sure their degrees would get them anywhere.

“I want to congratulate Florida A&M University College of Law on earning full accreditation. Their commitment to academic excellence is helping prepare future attorneys from Florida and around the globe to meet the legal needs of their communities. This well-deserved achievement is the result of a college-wide dedication to enhancing student services and programs and increasing education and career opportunities,” Governor Charlie Crist said in a press release Friday evening.

The American Bar Association gave the FAMU law school five years to earn full accreditation; that was in 2004. However, the class that walks through its doors will not be the first to graduate from FAMU as a fully-accredited school.
